Pouenat is a unique French Maison specialized in artistic craftsmanship
The Gallery Pouenat showcases furnishings and lights which highlight metal’s work in every shape and form (brass, bronze, copper, steel). Its director, Jacques Rayet, has decided to promote the new French savoir-faire by selecting a new designer every year to create a « collection capsule ».
For that collection, Rodolphe Parente decided to use graphic aesthetics with pure-geometrical shapes and an important materiality. He has succeeded in reinterpreting ancestral techniques such as etching on steel and brass by combining them with a set of lacquer and patina. Choosing also contemporary technologies such as mechanical chasing let him draw accurate lines on the brass. All stamped and numbered, the pieces of this collection are a limited edition produced on request by the Gallery Pouenat.
For this house of ironwork, Rodolphe Parente designed bold sculptures where brass dominates. With that in mind, the geometrical shapes of these lights and these structured bases fit perfectly to his style.
