Nathalie Sizaret is born in 1962 in Paris. She studied painting and drawing at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris. Nowadays she works and lives in Asnières. Nathalie Sizaret exposed in different art fairs : Montrouge, Sèvres, Paris, Aix-en-Provence, but also in several galeries such as Arte Viva in Levallois-Perret where she is a permanent artist. Nathalie Sizaret’s painting expresses the constant search of the being, of what there is in human and in divine. The artist gets fed by everything around us, by what makes us sharing with the other and by what makes us know ourselves better. That’s why the human body is the main theme of her work. A body that she stages on natural, stuck, torn or printed backgrounds. Flesh reveals the pain and words define the flesh in return.
Existence is a mystery
My work is the exploration of these two parallels : philosophical and plastic where in turns, one of them predominates on the other one. I express this on canvas, wood, sheet metal, paper or through figurative contours because the body, the vulnerable and fragile human being, is in the middle of the question but also the only way to answer. Art is an alchemy. The inner transformation enables a transformation of the world. Nothing new under the sun than this mystic approach of existence and by extension of art. Nevertheless life only makes sense through the examination of the absolute (despite all the veils we try to cover it with) and the reverence through this overwhelming absolute is shown for me through the intimacy of the body, naked, in all its shapes and colors. Until the drying it probes this mystery.
It’s an exposure to work on these bodies of flesh, feathered and gold-rimmed. Here is my approach which gets fed by the echo of this mutual quest through songs, musics, writings and every other words caught in other mouths. In this way I redraw all the ways which bind us all together. Nothing tears us apart. So I write it, I stick it, I paint the human intricacy in time and space. For every work, I look for the prophets hidden in human kind.
Mixed technique
Acrylic paint for its immediacy, oil paint for its generosity over time which she gives me to find shapes, paper for memory, words sharing. The drawing of a past and a present full of diversity and alterity.
