A surprising exhibition honoring the artistic craft at the Castle
of Champs-sur-Marne

A fairy tale out of time is about to illuminate the interiors of the castle of Champs-sur-Marne. Today, the Ulgador workshop is indeed the subject of an exhibition. From December 16, 2021, it is organized by Centre des Monuments Nationaux. The event celebrates French artistic craft and French know-how. On one hand, Gabor and Rahel Ulveczki, the founders of Ulgador, will exhibit decorative panels sublimated by battered metal sheets. On the other hand, they took the opportunity to create pieces in collaboration with the workshops Allot, creation of stylish furniture, Julie Gonce, flame glass sculpture. Furthermore, the workshop Mydriaz, creation of lighting and decorative elements in brass, Isabelle Anselot, textile creation, and Yuki Okamoto, sculpture in wrought iron. Custom-made, these luminous pieces will start a dialogue with the paintings and the antic furniture of the castle. Most importantly, count on the editors of Signatures Singulières Magazine to explore this art exhibition!

Atelier Ulgador, two alchemists of the metal sheet

Created in 1996, the Ulgador Workshop brings together two artists, Gabor and Rahel Ulveczki. In fact, it is a family business where the creativity of a father and his daughter merge. The painter Gabor, trained in gilding, has created a unique process of application and corrosion of metal sheets beaten, which is the basis of all his creations. With this singular technique, Gabor designs decorative panels and experiments with a multitude of supports and effects. Each panel, each realization is unique. Gold leaf shines of course, but also copper, brass, silver, or aluminum. Joined in 2012 by his daughter Rahel, a visual artist, they both create shimmering patterns, vibrating in the light. Panels, screens, and furniture ornaments are adorned with gold leaf and metal around phantasmagorical patterns. The result is a journey into an imaginary world that is inspiring.

A French know-how custom-made exported in the whole world

The Ulgador studio transforms surfaces such as glass, wood, or paper. In fact, the two artists apply gold leaf and other metals worked around abstract or figurative patterns. Their expertise has seduced international architects and decorators for interior projects as well as luxury boutiques. The refinement of their creations has clearly conquered great names such as Cartier, Chanel, or Van Cleef & Arpels. Shimmering gold leaves tell the story of the famous panther in Cartier’s boutiques. The Atelier Ulgador thus creates bursts of light on demand. This excellence illustrates how the creativity of art craftsmen is in fact an approach of artists with a capital A. Moreover, the discovery of this exhibition is, therefore, an unparalleled opportunity to experience this exceptional know-how, dear to Signatures Singulières Magazine. The result is an unmissable event to dream and marvel at.
