Modelec works with exceptional craftsmen. For example, the ironworker Steaven Richard has created his brand-new collection of light switches, called “Fascination”, out of 5 mm solid brass plates. They are sophisticated and original; genuine jewelry for your walls. For a long time, the light switch was sidelined as an unimportant part of decoration, but it is finally being recognized for its true worth. Worked and redesigned, it has become the icing on the cake, the small design object that “finishes” a room.

Steaven Richard
Having trained at the school of traditional ironwork, Steaven Richard decided to open his workshop in 2001. He settled in Paris and met visual artists, sculptors and designers who nourished his artistic approach. He is lauded by great Parisian decorators for his range of patinas. In 2013, Karl Lagerfeld commissioned him for his studio at Chanel to create a textured nickel silver Versailles parquet floor. This unique project accelerated the development of innovative techniques and tools that are now patented: artistic lamination was born! Passionate about innovation, creative dialogue, and taking on a challenge, Steaven is constantly experimenting to open up new aesthetic fields. The Steaven Richard workshop received the EPV label (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) in 2011. The company has also been a member of the Grands Ateliers de France since 2011.
